St. Louis has been making a resurgence in music, fighting their way into some of the hottest hip-hop highlights of the year. Adding to that is Missouri’s Made Mell, with his new single for “Blue Benjamins”, dedicated to everyone’s favorite-faced blue bill.

Equipped with heavy trap production & an equally striking visual, “Blue Benjamins” is everything but dull. Made Mell weaves through the song with strong melodies and bold boasts of big money and expensive tastes. It’s not all superficial though, as Mell gives the listener hidden gems that prove to be more profound than expected. “Stay off the drugs young man. Your ancestors died for this land, so why is you playin’?”, is a personal favorite line as it deals with the diaspora of black Americans and the coping mechanisms in which we deal with that longstanding trauma. The midwest emcee shows exactly what he feels he needs to work for in response. In the video, Made Mell subtly flashes his designer shoes, assault rifle, and internet money making schemes in a way that feel less like a music video flex, and more like an everyday lifestyle showcase for the St. Louis rapper. Of course the visual wouldn’t be complete without the star of the show, the title prop: “Blue Benjamins”.

Watch the “Blue Benjamins” video below and get familiar with Made Mell and his brand of St. Louis stuntin’.
