Southern California Rapper D-Taylor Unveils His Engaging New EP, ‘Take 3’

Breaking through on a national level as an artist is something that takes a lot of luck, patience and consistency. Although times have increased the amount of routes to this destination, the most tried and true method in achieving this is making noise on the regional and local levels first. Hailing from Costa Mesa, California, rising rapper D-Taylor understands this notion perfectly, as he’s eagerly attacked Southern California’s landscape in the journey for recognition. Looking to take things further, he checks into our pages for the first time with his new EP, Take 3.
Clocking in at 3-tracks, Take 3 is an engaging project that finds D-Taylor leaning more into the wavy side of things. Throughout the 6-minute runtime, Taylor slices through a trio of thumping, high-energy beats as he gets out his comfort zone to deliver a highly accessible project. Utilizing West Coast inspired production to his advantage, he showcases amazing stamina as he hardly takes a break throughout the project, opting to ditch splashy guest verses for a more calculated singular perspective. The one exception, though, comes in the form of, “Wholesale,” a standout track that features Taylor going back and forth with another exciting So Cal prospect, Airplane James.
