With everything that’s been going on this year, music has been one of the few bright spots. In the last 6 months, we’ve seen releases from almost all of our favorite artists, as well as some notable cultural moments provided by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s VERZUZ series. Looking to add to the serotonin boost, rising Cleveland artist, Freshie delivers his engaging new project, Ready or Not.

Comprised of 12-tracks, Ready or Not comes after an impressive slate of singles and features from Freshie throughout the year. Boasting not a single feature, the most impressive thing about the album before even pressing play was the amount of confidence it takes for an upcoming artist to do that. Instead opting for some pristine production from artists like SuperDuperp, Mathaius Young and more, Freshie utilizes tracks like, “Phone Ring,” “Dirt” and, “Let’s Do It,” to showcase his vast improvement, vocally and with his melodic range.

The standout track from the album, though, is without a doubt, “Be Alone.” Sampling Aalyiah’s Y2K smash, “I Don’t Wanna,” Freshie and Mathaius Young both combine to tap into their respective strengths to make this one of the best single releases of the young year. Other standouts include, “Old Me,” an overtly emotional Punk-Rap mesh up and, “Mad At Me,” an infectious flip on Bow Wow and Ciara’s classic single, “Like You.”

Check out the project below and get familiar to Cleveland’s rising star.
