Pomona, California. If you’re not from the West Coast, this city may sound like Chinese to you, but if you’re from anywhere near California, you know that Pomona is home to one of the most underrated rappers of all time, Suga Free. I say this to say, there’s talent in that city, and a lot of it is being slept on. Looking to breakthrough similarly to Mister Free, Pomona artist Ty $later drops off his engaging new project, TREE$.

Clocking in at 9-tracks, TREE$ is an energetic, high-octane journey that sees Ty showcasing himself as a qualified lyricist, spitting substantial bars at a rapid pace, as well as highlighting his knack for melodic progression. Featuring production from Gezin (808 Mafia), LordFubu and more, the beats hold par, laying out a smooth path for Ty to really let loose. Stand out tracks include, “Ain’t Notice,” “Alright” and probably the best track, “Where I Be,” which features Ty going bar for bar with Curtis Williams and proving he’s meant to be here.

Take a listen to TREE$ below and get familiar with Pomona’s newest export.
