Remember when we we’re 10–15-years-old — unless you’re from Texas, than it’s still happening — and we used to get drugged out, slowed down version of our favorite songs and they would call them, “Chopped & Screwed?” Well, thanks to the legendary DJ Screw, his invention has lasted the test of time and is starting to come on back, nationally. Hailing from Maryland, rising artist, Olumide slowed up his whole 2019 project, Slowed Down & Smoked Up, which garnered rave reviews and spurned a new video for the single, “Passion.”

Directed by MachinaMedia, the visuals show Olumide in a darkly lit room, that’s aesthetically pleasing, surrounded by a host of pretty women. It serves as a nice visual to the infectious record, one that eagerly helps drive home the notions set forward from Olumide in the song. As for the track, Olumide proves himself not only as a worthy lyricist, but also that he can be pretty impressive melodically as well.
