Los Angeles Lyricist Cashus King Drops Off His Reflective New Single, “Heaven Man Earth”

Traditionally, Los Angeles Hip-Hop is more known for for being either festive, gangster or a mix of something in between. Despite this, there has always been a thriving underground scene in So Cal, headed by names like Blu, Overdoz, Pac Div and plenty of others. Hailing from the city himself, rising rapper Cashus King has always been closely associated with that scene, having come up with Blu and the Dirty Science Crew. Looking to further establish himself as a voice, he checks into our pages with his reflective new single, “Heaven Man Earth.”
One of the most immediate things of note when engaging with the record is the long runtime. Clocking in at 11+ minutes, “Heaven Man Earth,” goes for far longer than most contemporary rap records, but never feels as if it’s overstaying its’ welcome. From the absolute jump, Cashus establishes the essence of the record, opening the single with the line, “is there a kingdom in the sky? Something I’d only believe if I seen it with my eyes,” over angelic piano runs. From there, he continues to keep pace with thought-provoking lines such as the above mentioned, before sharing duties with Jeff Johnson. Sharing a storied collaboration history with Jeff due to their affiliations with the Dirty Science Crew, this record serves as further evidence of their rare chemistry.
In all, the 11-minute single does a brilliant job of keeping you engaged as Cashus and Jeff showcases impressive lyricism over production that doesn’t feel too pretentious. Check out the single below and get familiar with Cashus King.
