Relocation is never easy, but they say comfort is the enemy to success. It’s hard to progress in a place you may have outgrown, whether that’s creatively or just as a human being. Moving from Houston to Las Vegas, rising rapper, J. Horne knows a bit about this transition. Putting his story into 14-tracks, he releases his new project, Homesick 4.

Clocking in at 42-minutes, Homesick 4 is a lyrical affair that showcases Horne’s pen and ability to translate his feelings on wax. On songs like, “Feeling Great,” he also highlights his knack for melodic direction, while on tracks like, “Concentrate,” he turns his attention to motivation, penning a brilliant record about persevering. Another standout record is, “Tainted Love.” Featuring Jtruthpa, Nate Lee and Shreddie, the 4 artists go back and forth over the infectious production, which features a cleverly placed sample that I’ll leave for you to figure out.

Check out, Homesick 4 below and be sure to get familiar with J. Horne.
