For some artists, the downtime that the pandemic provided allowed them to buckle down and sharpen some of their skills. Coming out of Las Vegas by way of Ohio, rising artist Todd Zack Jr. is one of those artists. Already known for his abilities as a vocalist and songwriter, he spent the pandemic establishing himself as a man of many hats, most notably receiving attention for his production efforts with artists like Sango and Cam Wallace. Looking to further solidify his place in music, he returns with his anticipated new single, “Truthfully.”

Crooning to a woman about never lying to her over the chorus, the Ohio vocalist gets a bit deeper throughout the verses as he explores exactly why he feels such a strong connection to her. Co-produced by Todd, Hype Alexander, Chris “Buddafly Wolf” Bivins and Cheap Limousine, the group does a wonderful job of setting the stage for Todd to express himself vocally. Utilizing multiple layers of synths, as well as infectious chord progression, Todd then provides a steady drum break to bring everything together. Showcasing a stable control of his melodic choices and a strong vocal range, “Truthfully,” does a brilliant job of bringing together Todd’s talents under one roof.
