Let them tell it, and tradition says that all Rappers are tough, emotionless — sans, Drake — and have little to no love for long-term relationships. Despite this, almost every single Gangster Rapper that I’ve ever heard of has made songs for women, and they’ve been amazing. From some reason, there’s nothing more infectious and self-lifting than a tough guy baring it all for his lady — I’d also like one of these from Young Ma — and it hits every single time. Looking to take it up a notch, East Las Vegas native, Leanin’ Lo slows down his signature aggressive style to recruit Grammy nominated singer, Garren for his dope new video for, “Love or Lust.”

Directed by popular videographer, CMDeluxe, the video follows Leanin’ Lo and Garren as characters at a school, with Lo playing, “Professor Lo,” and Garren playing a lovestruck student. One of the more creative parts about the video, was how it paid homage to the 1996 film, Nutty Professor, with Lo bringing new life — and style — to the classic Sherman Klump character. As for the song, produced by Chris Punsalan, it’s definitely one of my favorites from the Vegas native. Utilizing some great storytelling skills and an ever-evolving pen to bring this one home, Lo showcases that he’s more than just rapping about a past life in the streets, as he’s now becoming a well-rounded artist to be reckoned with.

Make sure to take a view at the video below, and stay tuned for Lo’s upcoming project, Vegas Vacation, set to drop early 2020.
