Our Favorite Dallas Rapper Charles K. Strikes Again With New Record “Right Now”

The past year or so has been difficult on the entire globe, especially the music industry. The stars have had to slow down on their usual tour and travel schedules, and up and coming acts have had an increasing difficulty with the networking that it takes to get the ball rolling on a budding career. Nonetheless, the tenacious creators of our time have survived to see the other side. Bursting out on the post-pandemic era we’re slowly entering, Dallas artist Charles K. is back again with stellar sounds + visuals for his new single, “Right Now”.
From the start of the record Charles invites you into a world of his own. Lush, lo-fi chords and uncompromisingly powerful drum hits set the scene for the suave brilliance of the song to flourish. The first verse into the chorus of the tune are harmoniously seamless, a melodic testament to the artist’s growth vocally. Charles K. sings about the current state of his life & love affairs with a near perfect bass tone, more or less akin to R&B crooner Bryson Tiller. This part of the song shows a continuation on where he left off his last release, 2020’s “Victory for Hip-Hop 2”.

“Ok, so we get it, the song is good.”
Hook & intro aside though, the highlight of this record is undoubtedly it’s second verse. In this part of the song, the Texas native trades his singing voice in to give his listeners nonstop God-tier bars. In a rare moment of excellence, Charles goes all in and doubles down on a minute long spree of NBA references, clever enough to make Dame Dolla brush off his notepad. Like a power forward in a fourth quarter stretch, he ends this song leaving everything on the court & the crowd wanting more. Lines like
“Trying to fake ball, nigga try on. Me? I’m more Luka, more Zion”, and “Draymond: niggas happy they around shooters”,
will make even the casual rap-loving NBA fan stand up out of their seat.
Charles K., being the complete package of an artist that he is, has already pressed go on a visual to “Right Now”, which is dropping any day now. Complete with a stunning post-modern backdrop, a gorgeous vixen appearance, & our man of the hour dressed to kill, this music video will be one of 2021’s best offerings, & is already a clear front runner for our VeryBad end of the year list. To put simply, Charles K. is on a 3–0 run, on track to sweep the title for best export of Dallas since the Mavericks.
