Connect With Atlanta Collective East Chain & Their Impressive New Compilation, ‘Camp East’

If there’s one tradition in Hip-Hop that’s tried and true, it’s the fact that fans love rap collectives. As evidenced as far back as Wu-Tang Clan, with examples spanning to Odd Future, and most recently, Van Buren Records — there’s just something endearing about hearing a team of creatives showcase undeniable chemistry. Hailing from Atlanta, Michael Aristotle and Will Hendrixs recognized this early on, leading them to start East Chain Recordings. After amassing a team of likeminded creatives, they now jump on the scene, introducing themselves to the world with their impressive new compilation album, Camp East.
Comprised of 15-tracks, Camp East finds its’ niche by showcasing that aforementioned chemistry. With over 8 artists on the project, including features, it’s not easy to turn that into a cohesive sound, but they did. Calling on production from team-members such as Mike 24K, Whoaheyitskyle and more, the 50-minute project never feels bloated. Instead, vocalists like Aristotle & Da Kidd Half get ample time to highlight their lyrical abilities, serving as the the hosts of the project in a way by keeping the sound on track.
Standouts from the project include, “Hell Yeah,” a bouncy record Da Kidd & Casino Life Prez, “Yo Baby Daddy a J,” which features a scene-stealing verse from BOREGARD. and, “Be Careful.” Produced by Whoaheyitskyle, “Be Careful,” is a fun, engaging record that finds the crew maneuvering in a different direction, sonically. It also has the best hook on the whole project, provided by Salyse, that’s ultimately hard to forget.
In all, the collective was able to put together a substantial body of work utilizing talents from everybody on their roster. Check out the project below and get familiar with each of their members.
