Many of us will never get the opportunity to understand what it feels like to be a star, and that’s okay. But for some of us superstardom is inevitable and so are the ups and downs that accompany such a taxing lifestyle. Hailing from Boston, rising rapper HOLLYWOODMIGS is hoping to be among the latter group, looking to embrace everything that life has to offer. Putting his foot in the right direction, he checks into pages for the first time with his enjoyable new video for, “Superstar.”

Directed by VRTUPRESENTS, the video takes place in a swanky high rise apartment that definitely helps bring the title of the song to life. Surrounded by friends, arcade games, liquor and money, the most endearing quality about this video is the depiction of how a superstar spends most of his or her nights when they aren’t working. While many videos work to create a narrative that rappers are always partying and flanked by beautiful women, a random Tuesday night will find many of your favorite rappers hanging with the homies, playing video games in a very nice apartment.

As for the record, produced by Lolcat, we find HOLLYWOODMIGS showcasing his intriguing knack for melodic direction. Utilizing auto-tune in a crafty way, he bends his vocals in a calm, almost sleepy manner, that creates for an engaging listen. Speaking on the ups and downs of what might be waiting for him on the other side of superstardom, he accurately croons about the duality of supporters and leeches alike, waiting to get their little slice of his ever-expanding utopia.
